Lydia House
Nationally, about half of all homeless women and children are fleeing domestic abuse and violence. Open Door Mission’s Lydia House provides emergency services for women and families in need of immediate assistance. We provide food, shelter, clothing and other basic needs. The Lydia House also offers life changing programs to address the causes for homelessness such as abuse, addiction, or the inability to obtain and maintain steady employment. The Lydia House provides safe shelter for more than 300 women and families.
Twice As Nice Kids Consigment loves that we can give back to our community through our sale. All of our consignors have the option to donate some or all of their unsold items after the sale has ended. All donations go to the Lydia House, a program of the Omaha Open Door Mission. To date, we have donated over 1,000 lbs of clothing, toys and equipment to their cause.
Omaha Guns & Hoses Boxing Challenge
An annual charity boxing event between local Police Officers & Fire Fighters. All money raised goes towards Special Olympics, Muscular Dystrophy Association and local youths through amateur boxing.
Tickets are on sale for the 2nd Annual event. The fundraiser will begin at 7:30 p.m. September 11th at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs and will boast 30 of the area's toughest police officers and firefighters. Police Officers and Fire Fighters are very near and dear to our hearts, not only do we have a special shopping session for them during our sale but we are happy to help with their causes since they go the extra mile to keep our community safe.
